The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives notice that under the Legislation Act 2019 and Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986, it has determined and published the Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path (Wellington Electricity Lines Limited Unforeseeable Major Capex Projects) Amendment Determination 2024 [2024] NZCC 13 (“Amendment Determination”).

Summary of the Amendment Determination

The Amendment Determination amends Wellington Electricity Lines Limited’s price path under the Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path Determination 2020 [2019] NZCC 21 to provide for two unforeseeable major capex projects – the “Weta FX project” and the “Disaster Recovery project”.
