Hazardous Substances (Fenamiphos-Containing and Methamidophos-Containing Substances Direction Prohibiting Use and Controlling Storage and Disposal) Notice 2023
Pursuant to section 66 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“Act”), the Environmental Protection Authority issues the following notice.
This notice is the Hazardous Substances (Fenamiphos-Containing and Methamidophos-Containing Substances Direction Prohibiting Use and Controlling Storage and Disposal) Notice 2023.
This notice comes into force on 1 August 2023.
Substance containing fenamiphos means any of the following substances:
Nemacur 400 EC approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR000956;
Nematak 400EC approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR007769;
Fenafos 400 approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR002480;
Nemacur CS approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR007894;
Canyon approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR100282;
Emulsifiable concentrate containing 400g/litre fenamiphos approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR000198.
Substance containing methamidophos means any of the following substances:
Methamidophos approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR002863;
Soluble concentrate containing 600g/litre methamidophos (Substance B) approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR000203;
Soluble concentrate containing 600g/litre methamidophos (Substance A) approved under the Act until 1 July 2024 with approval number HSR000226.
No person may use a substance containing fenamiphos after 1 July 2024.
No person may use a substance containing methamidophos after 1 July 2024.
For avoidance of doubt, the controls set out for the approvals for the substances containing fenamiphos remain in effect until 1 July 2024.
